A cold wind blew threw the lands. Ruffling my peppered coat. Winder was on its way here. I didn't care for the winter all that much. But it was another season that would bring life to us at Hotah Forest. It was a beautiful season though; don't get me wrong there. I enjoyed it and hated it at the same time. I sat there upon a ledge in the hunting area. I snorted as air seemed to crystalize as I blew it out from my nares. Green eyes scanned the whole land around me. I just relaxed and lowered down upon the lands which soon would be frozen here shortly. The sun was rising though, that was a good sign. The skies were painted a yellow and white with hints of oranges, making reflections upon the large lake.
I rose up shortly, and moved down over the hill towards the lake, winds continued to blow threw fluffing my black, gray, silver and white pelt. The trees that I moved under were missing their clothing, leaving them naked against the harsh weather to come. This would only prove who was strongest here. I hoped the pack would come around. Knowing they would if I called to them. But they had things they needed to do, as well as my sister. I was happy that she was here with me. Alot laid on my mind right now, as I continued on down the path that was laid before me, and watched a few rabbits and deer run from me. Even though they had no reason to worry. I wasn't hunting right now. Just enjoying the early hours of the day.
But yet, here I was and feeling like I have let the pack down, but yet I known I didn't. Or hoped that I didn't at least. It was all trial and error and this I laughed about. I soon made it to the lake and dipped my dial down and drank what the earth offered me. The water stung for a moment, but then I started to enjoy it. And ignore that sharp pang in my throat. I got my fill and just lifted my head and looked around. Knowing today was going to be busy, and one would know that if they where not blind nor dumb. So I awaited.

Nares tingled at the first crisp airs of the coming winter settled into the land, verdant stare closed and just enjoyed the chill for a moment. While not from any mountain pack the human territory dubbed Alaska got just as nasty, some parts even seeing no light for a moon’s cycle. While that intrigued him he had never cared to venture to such a place, it sounded like a poor hunting ground. As it was trekking through Canada had left him weary of his father’s kind and physically scared to boot. Muzzle wrinkled as the wolf dog snorted, he continued and he would remain in this world as long as he could continue fighting. Ear pivoted seeking friendly sounds but finding only the scampering of prey. Content with that the storm hued male walked deeper into his home seeking some captainship, he cared little from who. He could not spend all his time with his sister and her twin boys, how would he accomplish anything but smothering them? Apollo might be about and in the mood for conversation, they had gotten along quite well so far. Calla was around there somewhere as was her elusive sister, he was still unsure about the later. While Calla could care less about his mixed linage since he was obedient to what little authority she projected. He had never met a leader who was so passive, yet here she was asking nothing of him but his loyalty. Stare turned at movement watching one of the coyote that appeared from time to time stop dead, rabbit in it’s bloody jaws. Kura tilted his head at her, stare even over his scars, he could care less for a non-threat to the pack and his kin. Turning from her he continued walking not saying a word to her, let her think what she wished of the freak.
The sky had begun to regain it’s paler color ending so he listened closely for any calls for a mourning hunt, so far none had come. It made him feel a bit useless with only patrolling to do really, not that he did not have the icy stare down. He was the most dominant of the wolves walking this land, it was his duty to fight any threat to his home, bitter rage just gave him the fuel to do his job. This pack was very kind but sooner or later a purities would come around and he would have to prove his worth with his fangs once more. Oh he had learned early on not to trust strangers, this pack had proven welcoming and so he was content here. Content was a nice change and he pitied anyone who tried to get between him and what he wished to protected. Mercy for those who enraged him was not something he often showed, he had never been shown any kindest by those offended by his simply existing. Head rose to look around not sure exactly where he was for a moment, he really should not walk and think so much. Dark stare blinked in recognition and smiled a little as he bowed his head in greeting. “Calla-dono, is everything alright you look a bit…pensive? Am I intruding?”

I layed there silently, Vertish gold eyes looking around the terrian that was layed out before me. My sharp scent catching everything and then that of Kura. The wolf dog mix, he was a gentle giant, but protective of those around him. And believe me I respected that about the lupe. My coat of ice and raven peppered together would help me during the winter with hunting with the pack. Well the ones that would hunt with me. I known that I could rely on my sister and Kura, his sister had pups to think about and I respected that. As a voice soon caught my attention my mirrors turned to the masculine.
" No that you are not intruding. I am just a little. I feel that I was not doing my job as a Alpha should. " Least I was being honest and letting myself talk about it to the male. My pillars rose up as I sat there, it felt good to have another around here to talk with. Then I spoke out. " How is you're sister doing and her pups? I hope they are alright. I was thinking we need to mark these boarders and then a hunt. I know the others of the pack must be hungry. Winter is coming and we got to stick together threw these times if we are too survive. And I will start doing better at being a Alpha that you all need to have protect and serve you as you all serve me. Believe me Kura I am going to do better. "
My filth appendage danced around behind my frame. I stood up then. " Care to help me Kura mark these lands to keep danger out of here? " I smiled towards him and then awaited to see his responce.

The wolf dog relaxed when he was assured he was not intruding on her private thoughts, it could be hard to tell sometimes. At her confession the male frowned confused by her words. The pack was safe and content what more could they ask of her then that? Was it her lack of force she was concerned with? His mother had never been one to raise her voice but the other dogs had respected her until the end. Fangs were only so useful against cold steel and hot led. The slash down his cheek was proof enough of that, at least he had manage to save his eye from any damage. Really the slash was only a flesh wound, few asked about it but he could care less what others thought of it. The scars on his muzzle were caused by his fellow canine and glaring over them proved quiet effective. Shaking his head at his Alpha he spoke up again.
“I was raised by dogs and man so perhaps I am mistaken but I would take you over any other Alpha I have met. Few wanted anything to do with me because of what I am, these are not birth marks after all.” Looking away he sighed, was he really that scary? With one long scar had he had looked less intimidating perhaps but had he been frightening? His scent alone could not be all that freighting since he was half wolf and Huskies were not that far removed. He was not sure how comforting his words would be to her really, but at least she knew he did not feel threatened here. When she spoke of his family he perked up a bit, he had never expected to see her again. “Better now that they have a safe den and food in their bellies again. She is thankful for your kind welcome, not everyone would take in a mother and cubs so close to winter with such a small pack. It means a lot to us both.” Those words he knew would cheer her far more then his first, who didn’t like hearing they were regarded graciously? So Calla was not bossy who cared really? She had him to scare anyone who would need it, from his scent to scars he knew how he effected those around him. He had no problem using that weariness against strangers, no problem at all. She brought up her performance once more and he was still unsure how she felt she had felled them. When she asked if he would assist her he just grinned at her, did she really have to ask? “I am yours to command Calla-dono, no mater how you feel you have failed me, I will be happy to correct you if you desire?” Giving her a playful smile the darker male stretched absently, Raz would howl if she needed him as always. As for hunting the two of them could go out alone if need be, it was not the safest option but it beat going it alone. Winter near or not a lone female was an appealing target, a lone male not as much of one. Calla’s sister could clearly see to herself so he would hold off worrying over her until they had met. He had to admit his curiosity was peeked a bit about her, especially if she was anything like her sister.
