I slept there, nightmares haunted me tonight. I whimpered and howled out silently. In my dream I was at the hunt, everything was happening over again. My older brother took his place and gave signal and then boom! One minute we all were together, me excited and happy as usual. The hunt happened, and the cow came at me. And I snapped awake. I looked around to see everyone was asleep. I whimpered and whispered to Amaroq, my loving brother. And nudged at him, I wanted to get up and walk to him, but it wouldn't happen. Not for awhile. I took a little bite of the meat which was placed there near me to eat when I woke. I wanted to fall back asleep, but could not. I licked at my leg and paws, but it hurt. So I just laid back down. I hoped big brother heard my soft whisper of whimpers and come over towards me. But I would just have to wait and see. |

Amaroq had returned to the den after his long talk with Lilith, he felt slightly better now that he had gotten away from everything. He had taken his place amongst his pack and family, falling into a deep dreamless slumber. How much time has passed remained a mystery for the black wolf, but he awoke to the soft whine of his sister. In a way he was glad to hear her making some sort of noise, silence often meant death was coming. To make noise was to show there was some fight left in her. Hearing another soft whine, he silently stood and made his way over to her, being careful to not step on anyone as he came to stand before Kali. His ears flickered soundless as he bent his head to gently nudge her face with his muzzle, careful to avoid her wounds. He didn't want to agitate them anymore than was needed. He figured she was upset over the hunt that day, anyone would be. She was young and thought she had failed them.. when in reality he felt like he had failed her as her leader. Sitting down quietly before her, his gold eyes watched her in silence for a moment.
"Kali.. how are you feeling.."
He murmured softly to her, his voice solemn and kind as she looked down at her. He hoped that she would recover enough to eat something, perhaps they could find a way to bring her some water. In the morning he'd ask Nails and Cheveyo to go scouting for a turtle shell, they could use that to bring her something to drink. She needed water and food if she was going to get better. That was for sure.

I didn't know if Amaroq heard me or not. I didn't know how long I was honestly laying here and resting, it was strange. I was normally up and running around with the pack, it was different to say the least this injury held me back from doing such a thing. I felt my brothers nudge which was ever so tender. I glanced up at him. I wanted to cry. " I don't want to lay here and do nothing brother. I want to run around with you all. Stupid injury! " I whimpered a few seconds after I spoke. " I failed you all, I am sorry. " I dipped my head, I felt ashamed of myself, actually for once hated what I did.
" I should have watched more carefully and paid more attention. I should have been more like Ula and the others brother. I am sorry. " If a wolf could cry you best believe that I would be right now, I was in much pain and didn't want to just lay here and do nothing while everyone else did everything. But no! Here I was in pain and agony. " Everyone probably hates me for what I did. " |
