Amaroq was pleased with the words that came out of Cheveyo's mouth, that he would get consent before attempting to mate with any of the pack females. Which was truly all he asked for, just a little bit of respect so he knew things about his pack. For example if a lot of the pack paired off and wanted pup's he'd have to determine who could have them what year. If they didn't tell them their intentions then the pack could have way to many mouths to feed come Spring. His sisters response was more care free and cute, she still didn't like boys in a adult way which made him happy. Wagging his tail a bit at the light conversation he allowed the two others to play around for a bit. His ears twitched as he heard Cheveyo's statement about the hunt. He nodeed softly and turned his gold eyes towards his sister who asked if she too could go along with the hunting party. A wolfish smile crossed his features as he nodded at her.
“You're plenty old enough to go along with us Kali. Besides you have a lot to learn before you reach two years old next spring. Why not learn some tricks today----besides mom and your dad won't mind now with new pups to watch after.”
He told the yearling his eyes glimmering happily at the idea of having new siblings. Personally, he had yet to really spend a lot of time with them, his mom had kept them away from the main pack. Now was new wolves around he figured they'd be wary as all parents tended to be around strangers. Turning his attention to their surroundings he idly began to think about what prey they should pursue come that evening. Something large since it had to feed a lot of mouths.. Perhaps a bison? It would be a true challenge for the pack given it was summer and the bison were in peak condition. Though they could possibly take down a calf if they were lucky enough.
“I may even let you chase the prey today Kali. You need to learn first hand... as long as your careful of hooves..”
Amaroq paused, his worry evident but he knew she had to learn or else she'd never survive.

Cheveyo chuckled at Kali, she was feisty little thing that was for sure, even playing she was a ball of energy. The white male was being very careful not to crush or otherwise hurt her, it had been a while since he spared with anyone not about his size. She had yet to cry out is pain she he assumed he was doing alright there, most made some sound of protest when hurt. At her teasing of cooties he chuckled even louder then he had before, half getting off her as he lowered his head. That brought back so many memories as well, he had never been able to fine out what a cootie was though. Lifting his dampened face he mockingly growled at her before looking up when Aramoq mentioned her going on the hunt, then their parents. He had not really considered their parents until just then. Cubs meant their family was bigger then those he had already met, how much bigger he was unsure.
Attention returned back to Kali when she nipped him again, pale gaze turning back down to her. Getting off Kali he stretched before sitting down, too much play would wear them all out if they were careless. Running down prey was safer then meeting hooves and horn straight on, his job usually being a male on the large side like Amaroq. Such a duty suited him well, he could take more and give out more then a smaller male or female could, that was just the way it was. The Alpha clearly did not relish the idea of letting her come but sometimes one had to do something they did not like for the good of others.
“I am sure she will be just fine, after all we will all be near by to help if trouble arises. I may be new to this land but protecting is another matter. I make a much nicer target then she does, especially when you bite right were it hurts, they hate that.”
Smirking at Kali he huffed at her ear to get a laugh out of her, she had to learn to hunt some time. Her family would see her as safe as they could, he would do what he could as well. While not blood they were adopted family in a way now that they were pack. He would not lose any sleep taking a hit to save another from it. Wounds healed and as long as he was not crippled he would not be useless for long after it healed.
