The heat of the summer sun was still burning but its heat would fade soon enough into the chill of Autumn then the ice of Winter. By the time his moon akin pelt would blend like his twin’s in shadows the Anwe clan would have to have made a very serious decision. Join or go it alone. Anwe were not ones to bow to just anyone calling themselves an Alpha, Yahto’s purer pride aside, fools need not give an order to any of them. This new land had a few Alpha’s about but no land had called to them so they continued walking, Yue scouting a bit ahead, Yahto, Misae, Maka, and Zaliska hanging back a bit. The pale twin sighed at the scent of fresh water, even white as snow the Summer sun got to him after a while. The scents of wolves and other larger animals crossed paths but nothing smelled fresh enough to worry about, not a bad thing at all. Stepping up to the river he smiled at glinting fish below the water, snack and a drink sounded good to him. Lowering his head he lapped at the cooling water as the rest of the clan came up behind him, Misae yipping in excitement at the flowing water. Lifting his head he chuckled before turning to his dark niece and licking her forehead getting playful cry of protest before she went to fill her belly.
Sitting down he waited patiently for his brother and mother to finish drinking before nodding for them to sit as well, they had things to discus. Any pack they wished to join, if any, had to sit well with Yahto as well or the family would never truly fit in. Having a mother, younger sister, and adopted daughter to worry about made him very passionate about their safety. Yue could take care of himself just fine so is safety was not as much of a concern, the fae always came first. Z was of age, Misae close enough some rouges might not care, and Maka was not as young as she use to be. The idea of any of them suffering at the teeth of lusty rouges made him want to rip something apart just as Yahto did. Calmer, better at removing emotions from decisions, neither thing helped much when rapists rouges came up. Sighing softly he drew in a breath, time to get this debate started.
“Winter will be upon us soon enough and we have two choices, join a pack or claim a land and form our own. There seems to be a few lands around here without packs, as well as a few packs in place so both options are viable. Yahto Misae is your daughter what do you want to do?”

Maka as well as any other adult wolf knew the dangers of traveling in between territories. It was a place were the unfit survived and often killed those that were not willing to bend to their law. She knew it very well because she had been forced to mate a few years ago, which resulted in the birth of her pups. The pack she had grown in had swiftly turned on her and had chased her out as soon as the pups could walk and talk. Amazingly she managed to raise the trio alone and all had survived. Something in which she is very thankful for. However she had traveled with her family now grown by one, and that was what she worried over. A yearling pup and a female of young breeding age were prime targets for any sick rogue that roamed near them. Maka also understood that her daughter and granddaughter had never experienced such a thing and would not easily believe it was possible to even happen to them. As the family stopped by a large stream to get a drink and to fish perhaps, she relaxed. Honestly she knew that they were well protected with two large males around, but it still was a concern for her. She watched Misae interact with her uncle before going to drink, she offered her white son a brief smile before doing the same. The water felt good on her lips, and filled her belly quite nicely. She raised her head from the stream and turned her attention back towards her son who had begun to speak.
Calmly she listened to his words. He was right of course they could go it alone which they've done in the past.. or they could join a pack here in this land. Certainly they'd have to be picky other wise it could be a big mistake. Quietly she rejoined the two male wolves and took a seat in the soft grass, her thoughts drifting from thought to thought before she decided to voice her thoughts on it.
“I think personally we should attempt to find a suitable pack for us to join for the winter. Perhaps forever should this pack fulfill our needs long term. Traveling in between packs is very dangerous and we are lucky to escape without conflict or harm to us.. I'm just not sure as to what pack we should approach..”
Maka told them both softly, her ears twitching as she listened to the sounds of nature.

Yahto was more of a warrior than his twin brother, but that did not mean that his brother was weaker than him----only different. Which was why they worked so well together, as the small clan walked along he kept a eye out for any danger. Though he watched his brother's pale form scouting a head with a wary eye. By far he was much more paranoid than his twin and did not trust these 'wild lands' very much. Sure any predator could live here but that was just it, any predator could be here. They didn't need to run into a band of wolves nor did they need to find a grizzly. He doubted that his brother would lead them into a sticky situation that just wasn't like him. With that firmly in mind he tried to keep himself in a good mood. The band stopped near a river that was rather low, perhaps there hadn't been a lot of rain this summer? Instantly his eyes fell on the large trout that were swimming in the deeper pools throughout the river. Good, they needed a meal that was not going to be incredibly hard to earn. His mother and daughter went to get a drink and he watched over them, silently looking out for any possible threat. Yahto found none and so he dropped his guard just a bit, his gaze fell on his brother for a moment. Padding past him the large black wolf got himself a nice long drink, needing the water to refuel his body from the hot sun. After they talked he was definitely going to relax in the shade nearby and maybe even sleep. For now however, they had much more serious things to worry over and talk about. Finishing his drink he returned to Yue's side just as his mom did. His brothers words reached his ears followed by his mother's honest reply.
“For once I agree with the idea of finding a pack to live in. With Zu being of mating age and Misae following close behind... who knows what trouble could follow us this winter. I just don't want to join a pack that is either going to bore me to death.. or piss me off constantly.”
He stated in a matter o fact kind of way. Yahto had a known temper and sometimes it would get the best of him if the situation irritated him enough. Which was why they had hard time fitting in to a established pack---- he just couldn't settle for a low rank. Dominant by nature it was incredibly hard for him to be a sigma or a kappa.. he just wanted to be in control of things. Absently he watched his daughter splashing around in the water, and sighed heavily. If for nothing else he would do this for her and the other two females in the family. They didn't deserve to live in fear for an entire season.. nor did he want to be constantly fighting with other males.
“Do you have any idea's brother?”
Yahto asked him quietly, wondering if the white wolf had any thoughts he had not yet expressed to them.

“I would rather be bored then constantly annoyed but you have a point, the right pack must be chosen, not just the first Alpha we come across. I would suggest we avoid any mountain packs, Misae is as spunky as her father but a nasty winner could claim any of us. There is plenty of forest land we can seek a pack with a fair winter and see if we find what will suit us all. First we should eat a little something while we can, a pack can wait one more day if need be.”
Yue had not taken a chance to fish, watching the area as his family had their drinks after he enjoyed his own, being point had its perks. Keeping his ears turned back incase his family wished to add their thoughts to what he had just said he watched the fish. Once a plan of action was agreed upon they could all relax just a bit, or even more in Misae’s case. The pale male envied her the childlike lack of worry she still possessed. They had worked hard to see she wanted for little, friends her own age was the one thing they could not give her and that saddened him a bit. None of them had mates and so no cubs, Yue had not had the luck to find one not that he resented playing the part of uncle. He could hardly recent his brother anything, Misae treated him and the others just the same really. That happy cub was their heart and soul, he pitied anything that went near her uninvited.
Teeth closed as Yue jerked back, lunch in his jaws, well a snack if they found decent hunting that evening. Lowering his catch he tore into it, reducing it to nothing but some spilled fluids quickly before taking another long drink. Returning to his family he considered which way might mean food or others of their own kind.
“Misae come out of hiding and show your father how good at fishing you are getting.”

Maka was glad that her sons came to an agreement without any arguing. Her boys rarely did argue but it did happen. The dark female nodded her agreement with what they both said. They definitely did not want to join a mountain pack, neither Misae or Zu would do well in it. She refused to sit back and watch her family die off so the mountain range was something they would steer clear of. She refocused her eyes on the river before them, eying the fish with hunger. Honestly she was in no extreme hurry to join a pack, it could wait a day or two... summer was still in full swing after all. Pale gold eyes watched her white pup dive after a fish, catching himself a snack. It was one lesson she was glad she had taught them all. Fishing came in handy when no red meat was available or easy to catch. Meat was meat after all and would keep them going until they could hunt for a deer. She stood and stretched a bit before approaching the water's edge, wisely avoiding the area in which Yue had just hunted. Fish were dumb, but not that dumb. She stilled her movements for quite some time before launching herself head first into the water, bringing up a large trout to devour at her leisure. Moving up to the bank she easily crushed the fish's bones and tore into the skin.
When Yue called out for Misae, she raised her head for a moment. Expecting her granddaughter to appear and rejoin them as she often did. However this time no bouncy yearling appeared, and worry gripped her chest, where could she have gone off too.
“Misae hunny..”
Maka called out, her whine escaping her jaws before glancing at her two sons and then at her daughter.

As his family fished for their meal, the large male stood back and watched them. He rarely fished when they did, wanting to keep an eye out for a passing bear. Everyone with a brain knew that bear loved fish, the smell of fish guts would attract them rather quickly. After they both caught themselves a trout he too went and got himself a meal, along with a fish for Zu to eat. He finished his meal rather quickly, gulping it down without taking the time to enjoy the taste of it. Though the peaceful feeling he felt disappeared when Yue called out for his pup. Normally Misae would stay nearby... exploring the area they were resting at.. rarely did she leave them for very long. He had taught her to stay near the clan at all times. His ears flattened and he raised his head silently to look around, his mothers worried cry reaching his ears. Still no black yearling came to them.. he growled under his breath. Annoyed and worried for his only pup the black male moved along the river bank, following her scent trail. He noted dully that the scent disappeared a the water's edge, which meant logically she had gone across the river. Barking loudly, the large black male raced across the river, not caring that it belonged to a wolf pack. He would defend his pup from anyone or anything.
Looking over his shoulder he hoped that his brother would follow him, he may need the added support soon enough.
