Nares flared as the dark brown and white female came to halt, males. Muzzle wrinkled into a silent snarl of memory before the fae sighed, males were everywhere. Sniffing at some partly bent grass she noted a few different males, two related, and a few of her own sex. Pleased there would be a few females around to keep the male’s eyes from her shades of brown and touches of white. This eligible bachelorette was in no mood to swoon over any one. No she did not trust most males as far as she could fling one, which was not an easy thing to do unless pissed. Debating her options with winter right around the bend, a lone female in a pack was safer then one without one. She had avoid the teeth of her birth pack by age at first, then flat out running away while the pack was out on a hunt. She was not young enough to be left behind if this pack proved as impulsive as her own. Not a pleasant thought but if she stayed near enough to the other fae while males were around and watched the males close enough she would be as safe as she could be in a pack.
Decision made she raised her muzzle to the sky calling the Alpha Male to her rather then sitting around all alone. So many fresh scents made her a bit nervous, she did not care to meet an loner male still packless in this land. Lowering her head her golden stare watched for any male or female to show themselves, it was time to see if she had choosen wisely or if she would be dodging snapping teeth all breeding season.

Over the last week he had gained three new adult members into his family, as well as a puppy. The pack had yet to coordinate a pack hunt---but he was planning on doing so today. It had been raining for most of the morning and with the moisture came an advantage. With the leaves on the ground soaked with rain the ungulates would have a harder time hearing them approach. Absently, he licked his chops at the thought of a successful hunt. For the most part he had been surviving off of small animals like rabbits and deer fawns... the idea of taking down a bison was mouth watering. Amaroq however had to do his patrolling first before he could even think about rallying his family for food. Walking along the known trails near the boundary of his lands he caught the scent of a unfamiliar wolf. Another loner? That was puzzling considering he rarely got so many let alone so close together. Her bitter song reached his ears, and he immediately responded to her call. He wasn't a rude Alpha just strict, and if this she-wolf could prove herself then she would have a happy home with his family. It didn't take very long to find the lone female, which was a unique brown shade that perked his interest.
However Amaroq was not a pervert and he would not even consider hitting on a female, not when he was so busy. Now his best friend Cairn on the other paw, was indeed a ladies man. He loved the girls and had a way of making them feel loved and appreciated. Coming to a stop, the black male assumed a dominant stance but it was not overbearing, he didn't want to make her think he was a tyrant. His gold eyes roamed over her form for a moment taking in her health without comment. Obviously she wanted a place in his pack other wise why was she there?
“Greetings, I am Amaroq. I figure you want to be a part of the pack yes?”
He asked her softly, his ears twitching absently as he waited for a response. Amaroq was naturally wary to be near his boundary. Other wolf packs lived near by and he did not want to interact with them, or get into a fight with them either. Not if he was alone. That was just pure foolishness. Refocusing his attention on the dark female before he tried to come off as a good guy.
“---and what is your name?”

It did not take all that long for a dark male to make himself known an strike the not a complete control freak Alpha stance, this helped relive a bit of her nervousness. She held obediently still as she was examined from a distance, looks aside one had to determine health. Having passed she was addressed by a pleasant voice, not all gruff and trying to sound manly. Soft voice and casually formal manners assured her she would not have to watch this male like a hawk, well at least not until his fae were all in heat. Lowering her dark form to the ground like a good girl she showed him the same respect he had shown her so far, formal. Getting back to her feet she watched his ears noting he was not one who liked to daily around borders any more then she did. Taking pity she smiled a little to show she was not afraid of him, since she was not, maybe he was a decent male after all?
“Names Lilith, and yes I would prefer to not be a loner come winner, no surprise there. If the pleasantries are done I would enjoy doing something useful rather then standing here exposed and bonding. Got anything that needs done big guy?”
Tilting her head at the Alpha she waited to see how her anything but formal way of speaking would go over. Niceties and such were not her style, she said what she was thinking and if someone’s feelings got hurt well it happened. Kids got her to watch herself since they did not need to hear what the world was like from her, life would teach them soon enough. You could relay on those around you but when push came to shove no one looked out for you like you.

Amaroq was rather glad to see a female that was not overly submissive or flirty, if he didn't know them then he didn't want to flirt with them. Some girls didn't understand his way of thought and often it lead to some really awkward situations. He was interested in finding a suitable mate for next year but he was in no rush to do so. Honestly he had lived here his entire life without a girlfriend such things were not always needed to be happy. It seemed that she did want to join his pack and did not offer any real reason why he shouldn't allow her inside. Both ears did however perk up when he heard her speak to him, the way she talked it honestly made him want to laugh, however instead he put on a rather wolfish grin and just shook his head a bit. There really wasn't much that needed done just yet, later on today perhaps this female could prove herself a bit to him and the others. She seemed more than determined to do just that and he really didn't have to complain. Stepping aside he gave her the silent okay to come into the territory. When she passed by, he moved to scent mark the boundary to let unwelcome wolves know that he was here and still in charge. With that done he silently returned to her side, his stance normal and not Alpha ish.
“At the moment we don't have much going on. The pack is just getting to know the new wolves---but later on today I am planning a hunt for the pack. We need a chance to bond and a excuse for me to see who has the guts to make it here.”
He told her nonchalantly before he started for home, his steps light and with purpose. After all he was sure she'd want to meet the rest of the pack before the hunt started that evening. Amaroq silently hoped that this would be the last lone wolf for awhile, the pack had doubled over the last week and he had a lot of sorting to do. Amaroq would glance at her every now and then but didn't talk much, she didn't seem to be the type to tell her whole life story and he didn't really want to press it with her or any of the new wolves.
Leaping over a log, he continued down the path, open to conversation but not really demanding that she speak.
